Because great ideas should not stop at the borders of language
OneNation is a community where writers publish in their own language and translators carry their words to readers everywhere — faithfully, and by name.
Every day, thoughtful people write things worth reading — and most of the world never sees them, simply because they were written in another language. We built OneNation to change that: a place where an essay written in Arabic can be read in French, where a question asked in English reaches a writer in Urdu, and where the people who make that possible are recognised for it.
What moved us
Silent language isolation
Whole communities think, write and debate in parallel without ever hearing each other.
Ideas rewritten by others
Too often, people learn about a culture only through media that summarise and reframe it — instead of reading its own writers.
Machines translate words, not soul
Tone, nuance and meaning need a human translator who understands both worlds.
What we stand for
Vision
A world where any good idea can be read in any language.
Mission
Connect writers, translators and readers so that ideas cross languages faithfully, with credit to the people who carry them.
Values
Fidelity to the original, respect in every exchange, recognition of human work, and transparency about how we operate.
How we create change
Three roles, one conversation.
The writer
Writes in the language they think in and chooses the languages to reach.
The translator
Carries the meaning — not just the words — and signs the translation.
The reader
Reads, rates, comments and asks questions back in their own language.
