Welcome to OneNation. These terms explain the rules for using the OneNation website and services (the “Platform”). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep it up to date.
- You may sign up with an email address and password or with your Google account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details safe and for activity on your account.
- One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone or create accounts on someone else’s behalf without permission.
- You must be legally able to accept these terms in your country, or use the Platform with the consent of a parent or guardian.
2. Roles on the Platform
Members join as readers, writers or translators. Translator accounts are reviewed by our supervisors before they can take tasks or paid work. Supervisors and administrators review articles and translations, organise issues and moderate the community. We may change a member’s role when it is needed to keep the Platform working well.
3. Content and conduct
You are responsible for what you publish: articles, translations, comments, questions, messages and anything else. You must not publish content that:
- incites violence or hatred, or insults people or groups;
- is illegal, or infringes someone else’s copyright or other rights;
- reveals other people’s personal information without their consent;
- is spam, advertising that has not been agreed with us, or misleading.
Any member can report content. Our team may dismiss a report, hide or remove content, warn its author, or suspend accounts that break these rules.
4. Editorial review and issues
Articles may be reviewed by editors, who can accept them, ask for changes or decline them. Accepted articles are published directly or in the next issue of their group. We are not obliged to publish any content, and the recommended article length and priority rules may change over time.
5. Translation
Translations are made through the volunteer task queue or through translation requests between writers and translators, which may be volunteer or paid. The rules for this work — deadlines, review, payment, commission and confidentiality — are set out in our Translation agreement, which forms part of these terms.
6. Wallet and payments
- Amounts are shown in Saudi riyals (SAR). You top up your wallet through our payment provider; card details are entered on the provider’s secure form.
- When a paid translation request is approved, its budget is held from the writer’s wallet and released when the translation is delivered.
- OneNation keeps a platform commission of 20% of the budget of each paid request. Founding translators are exempt for one year from the date they receive the title.
- Translators can request a withdrawal of their available balance to a bank account registered in their name, from a minimum of 20 SAR. Withdrawals are reviewed before they are paid.
- We may suspend a payment or withdrawal that looks fraudulent or breaks these terms while we investigate.
7. Intellectual property
You keep the rights to what you create. You grant OneNation the licence it needs to display, translate and distribute your content on the Platform, as described in our Intellectual property policy. The OneNation name, logo and design belong to OneNation.
8. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is explained in our Privacy policy.
9. Ending your use of the Platform
You can ask to delete your account at any time from your privacy settings. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Money held in a wallet is handled according to section 6 and applicable law.
10. Disclaimers and liability
We work hard to keep the Platform available, secure and accurate, but it is provided “as is”. Articles and translations express the views of their authors, not of OneNation. To the extent permitted by law, OneNation is not liable for indirect losses or for content published by members.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When the changes are significant we will tell you on the Platform before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after that means you accept the new terms.
12. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Questions? Contact us.
